A Challenge

I saw this lovely dress in the weekend supplements by Sophia Kokosalaki available at net-a-porter. I love the way it drapes at the back it got me thinking about the summer wedding season and the kind of kanzashi that would go with this type of outfit.......watch this space.

Spring Blossom Kanzashi Clips

To celebrate the onset of spring I went out and bought some satins in this seasons colours. I made these hair clips using two layers of satin, canary yellow and cream. They are attached to crocodile clips - I find these stay in the best. Each flower measures 3.5cm in diameter. These are available to buy in the shop if you like them or contact me for other colours.

Xmas Commission

Here is an acer leaf I made as a commission for a Christmas present. It's fastened to a barette and has tiny bells on the end of the leaf strands. Now that the festive season is over I can reveal! If you would like something like this in other colors or in your own fabric, please contact me.

Applique

My first foray into applique - I really enjoyed making this - we have a love of all things elephant in our home. I made it but have not seen much of it since - my daughter has commandeered it for her bedroom. Might make a darker version for our lounge.

A New Look

Finally got my shop, website and blog all looking vaguely similar. It's been so difficult to decide on a style and a design and by next week who knows I may change my mind again!! Now I just need to get on with making some things to sell in the shop and for the upcoming craft fairs. Was feeling a little uninspired but a few ideas are beginning to grow.
